My name is Angelica Kahn, youngest of 5, born and raised in Bremerton, Washington. My parents moved up to Washington state in 1983 to get into the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Growing up, we had 7 people living in a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home in Port Orchard living on a single income while my dad built his career in the shipyard and went through the apprenticeship program classes. My parents always provided so much for us and we never went without.
One thing I've learned from my parents was to always work hard and earn your honest living.
At 19 years old I started my career in the banking industry. I gained so much knowledge and appreciation about small business within my banking career. Helping others become their own bosses and connecting them to key players in the community.
In 2021, I decided I wanted to become my own boss and show my 2 daughters that with hard work and dedication, I could make it possible. Being a minority female small business owner in the dump trucking industry has really opened my eyes to all the amazing opportunities and projects that are happening right around my own community.
Community has always been one of my main drivers of motivation on my own growth and education. Not only for me and my family but to also inspire and encourage others like me to become their own bosses too.
